Simple Chicken Curry

  1. Skin less chicken-2 lb(cut into medium size pieces)
  2. Potato (cut into cube size)-2 medium
  3. Tomato (roughly chopped)-1 large
  4. Onion-2 medium(chopped)
  5. Turmeric powder-1 ts
  6. Red chili powder-1 and 1/2 ts or your choice
  7. Cumin powder-1 ts
  8. Coriander powder- 1 ts
  9. Ginger paste-2 Tbs
  10. Garlic paste-2 Tbs
  11. Bay leaves-2 pieces
  12. Cardamom- 4 pieces
  13. Cinnamon stick- 2 small size
  14. Oil-around 1/2 cup
  15. Salt-2 ts or your choice
  16. Coriander leaves (finely chopped)- 2 Tbs
  1. Clean and wash the chicken. Drain water from the chicken properly and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a deep pan and then fry the potatoes till golden brown color come out. Then remove from the pan and keep aside.
  3. Then add the whole masala (bay leaf, cardamom, cinnamon, ) and fry them for few seconds. Then add chopped onion into the oil and fry until the onion become soft.
  4. Add the chopped tomato and little bit salt; and cook till the tomato become tender.
  5. Then add rest of the ingredients except coriander leaves. Stir and mix them well. If needed add little water and stir until the oil start to separate from masala.
  6. Add the chicken and fried potato; and fry for around 5 minutes in medium heat.
  7. Then add 2 cups of water and cover the pan.
  8. Cook around 20 minutes or until the chicken become tender.
  9. Then add the chopped coriander leaves and cook for another 4-5 minutes.
  10. Now your chicken curry is ready to serve.
