  10. The time and effort to do this is very admirable in busy life abroad. I like several things: the name of the website, making it bilingual, and finally the homely recipes (these do not look fake, original kitchen style has been depicted).

    Spread it more.

  24. Hi Nahrin,

I am so happy I stumbled upon your website! I am a Caucasian American and my husband is originally from Bangladesh. My family enjoys eating Bangladeshi food, but the amount of recipes I can make are limited. I would love to learn how to make roti and shutki for breakfast if you could provide the recipes. I look forward to trying your fish and veggie recipes.

  25. Hi there!
This is a great initiative that you are documenting Bangladeshi recipes in this site. I was really impressed to see the pictures, as well. I always tell people that Indian-Bengali cuisine and our cuisine are so distinctly different. Hopefully we will get to see many more delicious recipes from your kitchen soon. How about making videos as well? Thanks again!

  34. Vimeo.com may be a better place to share your videos, as your current site isn't accessible everywhere.

And perhaps, the pictures could be resized for magnified view? Sadly not all of us have perfect visions.

Step-by-step instructions with accompanying picture would be best, kind of like this : http://drbenkim.com/how-to-make-sushi.htm

  37. hi,
you people r doing great job.thanks for the awesome recipes.I have some questions about two recipes.in the pound cake u said to preheat the oven.how long should I turn on the oven to preheat it? And in the kalojam recipe u said to add lemon juice in the syrup.will there be any problem if I want to avoid it?
I will greatly appreciate ur suggestions.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hi Shuborna,
Thank you for your nice comment.
When it is said to preheat the oven, it means you need to heat your oven to the desired temperature before bake the cake or anything. In most of the oven when the desired temperature is set, the coil in the oven just turn off. So check if the coil in the oven is turned off or not to make sure about your preheated oven.
In the kalojam recipe, you can ignore the lemon juice in the syrup if you want.
Hope these answer will be helpful for you.
    Thank you.

  40. Dear Ladies, thank you so much for this labour of love. I recently spent 2 months in Bangladesh and it's nice to now have recipes for many of the dishes I enjoyed. (The food in Bangladesh is great!) I live in Fiji and we have many of these foods here, so this is a great way to promote new ways to use local foods. I have been sharing your website with many.
Thank you so much, and please keep it up!

Thank you for such wonderful simple recipes. Fiona.

  43. Hi Ladies, It's me again from Fiji. I have a request - when I was in Bangladesh, for breakfast I was fed a wonderful dish made from a thick paste of channa dal (I think) cooked together with kochu shaak, with fresh made parathas. It was a wonderful breakfast that kept me strong all day. I would love to teach people here to cook that one since kochu shaak is a traditional food. Do you have a recipe for the mashed dal/kochu mix? If yes, please include that one.
